[Assam] JIKA AND BHAT KERELA

I know, the English equivalent of ' bengena ' is brinjal or
egg-plant.What is ' aubergine '? Do they belong to the same family of
brinjal ?
With respect to 'jika ' and ' bhat kerela ',what will be the correct
English correspondence to these common vegetables ? Are they ' ridge
gourd ' and ' teasel gourd ' for jika and bhat kerela respectively?
Could anyone shed some light on this ?
